2013 DIPLOMA COURSE LEARNING DISABILITY EDUCATION, SAMRAT VIKAS ACADEMY, GOREGAON (EAST), MUMBAI.

The diploma course in learning disability and early intervention at Samrat vikas Academy,Goregaon  begins on 19th October 2013.It is a six month weekend course with internship at a special school.

The modules covered are as under:

1.Introduction to childhood disorders.

2.Autism ;symptoms,development and treatment.

3.ADHD:symptoms and management.

3.Mental Retardation;symptoms diagnosis and treatment.

4.Learning disability ;Dyslexia dyscalculia & dysgraphya symptoms.

   Disorders of spellings ,disorders of speech and language.

5.Informal assessment and formal assessment .

6.Development of IEP and session planning.

7.Role of other professionals:Occupational therapists,Counselors, ,Psychiatrists and Pediatricians.

8.Behavior Management of students with learning disabilities.

9.Classroom considerations and mainstreaming.

10.Counselling skills for teachers.

This is a no exam course .Evaluation is based upon two projects that have to be submitted and one case study.

 Course fees are Rs.5000/ inclusive of reading material.
