The diploma course in learning disability and early intervention at Samrat Vikas Academy,Goregaon begins on
19th October 2013.It is a six month weekend course with internship at a special school.
The modules covered are as under:
1.Introduction to childhood disorders.
2.Autism ;symptoms,development and treatment.
3.ADHD:symptoms and management.
3.Mental Retardation;symptoms diagnosis and treatment.
4.Learning disability ;Dyslexia dyscalculia & dysgraphia symptoms.
Disorders of spellings ,disorders of speech and language.
5.Informal assessment and formal assessment .
6.Development of IEP and session planning.
7.Role of other professionals:Occupational therapists,Counselors, ,Psychiatrists and Pediatricians.
8.Behavior Management of students with learning disabilities.
9.Classroom considerations and mainstreaming.
10.Counselling skills for teachers.
This is a no exam course .Evaluation is based upon two projects that have to be submitted and one case study.
Course fees are Rs.5000/ inclusive of reading material.
